Since 2006, Legal Aid Ontario ("LAO") has provided funding to the Peel Family Mediation Services, for clients who financially qualify for LAO services and would benefit from mediation provided by the Service.  LAO contributes the amount that they would otherwise pay under the LAO Tariff.

Mediation can reduce the amount of litigation, providing a better service for LAO's clients, at a more economical cost to LAO.

LAO is an independent but publicly funded and publicly accountable not-for-profit corporation, which promotes access to justice throughout Ontario for low-income individuals, by means of providing consistently high quality legal aid services.  Find out more about LAO at www.legalaid.on.ca.
